This instruction manual complies with the ASTM F2123 - Standard Practice for Treestand Instructions.
STEP 1.
Select a
straight, healthy
tree between
9-18 inches in
diameter.
STEP 2.
Once you
have determined
which tree you
will climb, unpack
your X-Stand
climber. Prior to installing your climber, make
certain your security straps are connected.
If the security straps are not installed, do not
use your stand.
STEP 3.
Locate the foot platform. Remove
the climbing cable from the cable adjuster.
PLEASE NOTE:
Each climbing cable has
two distinct ends. The anchor end has
one (1) swagged fitting. The other end, the
adjustment end, has five (5) swagged fittings
(Fig 4). The adjustment end is used to either
lengthen or shorten the climbing cable. Wrap
the climbing cable around the tree trunk,
pass it thr
ough the flex arm eye and insert
it back into the opposite cable adjuster.
Remember to take into account the gradual
narrowing of the tree trunk when setting
your stand. Tilt both the standing and seating
platforms slightly in an upward direction to
compensate for this narr
owing. (Fig 5). If ca
re
is not taken to setup the treestand in this
manner at ground-level, once you reach your
desired climbing height, your stand will be at
an awkward, dangerous and unusable angle.
STEP 4.
After you properly put on the full-body
fall arrest harness provided, attach the tree
tether to the tree at eye level. With the safety
harness tether placed over either shoulder
carefully step onto the middle of the standing
platform.
CLIMBING INSTRUCTIONS
- X-1 MINI -
WARNING! This X-Stand is equipped with two (2) security/connector straps (they double as backpacking straps
also). These security/connector straps are designed to stabilize your X-Stand while at climbing height and to
keep the foot platform from separating from the seat platform inadvertently while climbing. THEY MUST REMAIN
CONNECTED AT ALL TIMES. Should the foot platform inadvertently slip-off your feet during use, retrieve it by simply
pulling up on the security/connector straps. Once you have reached your desired climbing height, reach down and
pull the tag ends (loose ends) of the security/connector straps to tighten both straps. By doing so, you lock the
seat and foot platforms to the tree. NOTE: You must lengthen the straps prior to attempting to climb down. DO NOT
modify or disconnect these security/connector straps for any reason.
