NETWORK CONSIDERATIONS
There are two options for connecting a VALINA to the outside
world:
• integrated comms card supporting mobile broadband
(GPRS, EDGE, 3G, 4G)
• onboard ethernet interface supporting landline broadband
Because Spica packages for the VALINA are significantly larger
than their older SAMOA equivalents, broadband throughput
and latency become more critical. Teleloading has specific
requirements, including a minimum transfer-rate of 4 kbps over
30 seconds. Acceptable transfer-rates and latency are easier
to obtain using landlines.
