3. Using your Wood’s air puri er
• Place the air puri er on a level ground in the middle of the room.
• Connect the unit to a grounded power outlet.
• Switch the air puri er on and choose fan speed with the fan speed knob on the back of the unit (see Fig. A). The Wood’s ELFI 900
lets you choose between 4 fan speeds; a higher fan speed means higher air ow and faster puri cation but also slightly higher
power consumption and noise level. Please refer to Fig. A for more information.
• When the air puri er is running, you can feel the air ow from the sides of the unit.
• For best results, leave the air puri er running continuously, even during the night or when you leave the house.
• The lters in the unit need to be replaced regularly, at least once every six months. Read more about replacing the lter below.
• For best results, place the air puri er in the centre of the room. Make sure that the air ow isn’t blocked.
4. Workings of your Wood’s air puri er
The Wood’s ELFI 900 circulates the air through the room with two fans, taking in air from its front and exhausting clean air from its
sides. For optimum air puri cation, it is usually recommended that the air puri er is powerful enough to circulate the air through
the room twice every hour. This unit is therefore recommended for rooms up to 160m
2 , depending on the environment. In a
demanding environment, for example very dirty rooms or rooms where people smoke, you need to circulate the air more often.
The maximum working area might therefore be smaller than in a less demanding environment. A demanding environment will also
a ect how often you need to replace the lters in the unit. We therefore recommend that you check the lters regularly and replace
the lters when needed. Please refer to the lter chapter below for more information.
When the air is circulated in the room and passed through the ionization part of the air puri er, the particles in the air are given a
positive charge. When the air passes through the air puri er, the charged air particles are drawn to the Active ION HEPA lter where
they stick. This technique is not only very e cient, it also allows for a low lter density. By using an electrical charge to separate the
particles from the air, Wood’s doesn’t have to rely on the density of the lter to receive a high level of puri cation. This means that
no noisy and energy consuming fans are needed to circulate the air, which is needed in puri ers using traditional lters of the same
capacity.
If the unit is equipped with carbon lters, the gases in the air are adsorbed by the carbon lters after the air has passed through the
Active ION HEPA lter. The carbon lters remove gases and unpleasant odour from the air. Place the carbon lters outside the Active
ION HEPA lters. Replace the carbon lters when they are expired according to step 1-5 below.
5. Cleaning and lter maintenance
Wood’s air puri ers are easy to clean and maintain. If needed, use a damp cloth or vacuum cleaner to clean the outside of the air puri-
er. Avoid using solvents or strong cleaners as this may damage the surface of the air puri er.
The Active ION HEPA lters in the Wood’s ELFI 900 need to be changed regularly due to their ionization. To receive the full, 10 years
warranty make sure to change the lters at least once every six months. However, the lters may need to be replaced more often
depending on the environment. The lters also have a status indicator that shows when they need replacing.
1. Switch the air puri er o and unplug it from the power outlet.
2. Open the air puri er by gently turning the top latch.
3. Remove the consumed lters.
4. Insert two new lters as marked by the arrows on the lter.
5. Close the air puri er and reconnect it to the power outlet.
6. 10 years warranty program
Wood’s air puri ers are of the highest quality and capacity and that is why Wood’s are able to leave as much as 10 years warranty on
all air puri ers. All you have to do is follow a few easy steps:
• Register your air puri er at www.woodsairpuri ers.com.
• Change the air puri er’s lters at least once every six months.
• New lters can be purchased at your local retailer.

NOTE: Make sure to save all receipts, even for the lters. These are needed for all warranty claims. If you don’t wish to enter the
warranty program, you still have 2 years warranty on your air puri er. Please note that the extended warranty only applies to
the Active ION HEPA lters and not the carbon lters.
