Unit won’t feed

limbs properly

• Main drive belts

are slipping .

• Flywheel knives

are dull .

• Material jammed

in chute .

• Flywheel knives

• Chipper head is

turning too slowly .

• Bed knife (anvil)

rounded off .

• Not enough down

pressure on limbs .

• Fork in material is too

wide .

• Feed roll tension springs

stretched wide .

• Feed roll gear box belt

loose .

• Tighten or replace if

necessary .

• Sharpen or replace

knives .

• Sharpen or replace

knives .

• Release feed roll clutch

and remove material by

pulling it out of the chute .

Trim forks and feed

in to the chute .

• Sharpen or replace

knives .

• Check that PTO speed

is at 540 RPM .

• Reverse or sharpen .

• Adjust eyebolts to

increase spring tension .

• Remove and trim .

• Replace springs .

• Tighten or replace if

necessary .
