Operating the machine
This chapter provides all the information you need to know about making coffee easily with the WMF 5
and how you can customise your WMF 5 – exactly to your taste.
Before operating the machine for the first time, you must have run through the start-up
(see Chapter 2 “Start-up” on page 8 and following).
Hazard!
Possible risk of burns or scalding on hot parts or due to hot liquids.
The spouts become very hot during operation and can burn when touched. You can be scalded by hot
beverages.
> Do not touch the coffee dispensing cartridge when hot.
> Handle hot beverages with care.

Switching on/off, cancelling preparation
Use the On/Off button

to switch the coffee pad machine on or off or to cancel preparation of a
beverage.

To switch on the coffee pad machine, press the On/Off button

The
ready indicator
F
- flashes red when the water tank needs to be filled,
- lights up red while the appliance is heating up,
- lights up white as soon as the appliance is ready to operate.
>
To switch off the coffee pad machine again, or to cancel beverage preparation before it is
complete, press the On/off button

again.
