1 INTRODUCTION
The pipette is a volumetric instrument designed to measure and transfer liquids precisely and
safely. It can measure and transfer volumes from 0.2
l to 5000
l depending on the model.
The pipette has a digital counter which displays the volume. The volume is adjusted by turning the
black knurled adjustment ring, Fig. 1B, and is continuously adjustable within the volume range for
the pipette. The maximum volume of the pipette is shown on the push-button and corresponds to
the model number. Fig. 1A.
The volume range from 0.2
l to 5000
l is covered by seven pipette models.

The pipette uses disposable polypropy-lene tips. Fig. 1E. The disposable tips ensure maximum
safety for the user and avoid cross contamination between samples. To protect the user from
contaminated tips, the pipette is equipped with a built-in tip ejector. Fig. 1D.
When using very narrow test tubes, it maybe necessary to remove the tip ejector. It is simply
removed by pulling it away from the pipette.
The pipette is a high quality instrument which offers excellent accuracy and preci-sion. The values
for accuracy and preci-sion given in the following table were obtained using original tips. These
figures are only guaranteed when original tips are used.
