Frequency Inspection Action
Monthly Side Saddle Adjustment
– Attempt
to move the top tube or RCP side-to-
side in the saddle in the mast nested
position. The mechanical side-to-side
play should be minimal.
If side-to-side play is observed
greater than 1/16 inches (1.5 mm),
adjust the saddle plates to reduce
the gap between the top tube and the
saddle plates to 0.010 inch (0.25
mm). (See Section 6 for procedure).
Monthly RCP Saddle Adjustment
– Lift up
on the mast top tube or RCP (do not
lift from light fixtures) with the mast
nested. The RCP or payload should
not have any mechanical play in the
upward direction.
If upward play is observed, adjust the
RCP saddle height up to remove the
mechanical play in the nested
position (eliminates bouncing during
vehicle transit). Ensure both sides
are raised evenly to support the
RCP/Payload evenly. (See Section 6
for procedure).
Yearly Top Tube Drain Hole
– Inspect the
large drain hole at the top of the top
tube to ensure it is not plugged by
any debris or foreign objects.
Clear out the drain hole as required
to allow proper drainage.
Yearly Emergency Stop
– Test the function
of the emergency stop to ensure it
still functions properly to stop all
motion.
If the emergency stop does not
function properly, do not use the
Mast System and have it serviced
before use.
