Using the Scanner
operation by pressing the start button (5); formatting will be started immediately.
Select the “X” symbol to cancel the function.
TV Output
Connect the slide and negative film scanner via the supplied video cable (9) to a
TV set or to a video monitor in order to watch the images. Put the phone jack into
the video output (11) of the scanner and connect the yellow RCA plug of the cable
to the video input of the TV set. In case your TV set is only equipped with a
SCART video input, you can use a suitable SCART adaptor (not included) for
connection. Mind the proper direction of the video signal of the SCART adaptor.
Select this symbol to set up video output to either PAL or NTSC. The PAL
standard is used in Europe and the NTSC standard is used in the USA or Japan
for example.
Press the buttons (2) or (6) to mark either the PAL or NTSC format in green
colour. Press the start button (5) for confirmation.
Usually this setup needs to be configured only once.
Note
: If an external monitor is connected to watch the images, the internal display
of the scanner is disabled.
Exposure
Select this symbol to set up an exposure value for the images you want to
scan.
Use the buttons (2) and (6) to set up exposure values in stages between -2.0 and
+2.0. Using a negative value, an image will be scanned darker and using a
positive value, the image will be scanned brighter. Press the start button (5) for
confirmation.
With this setting, the exposure can be manually adjusted according to the
particular object illumination. Images can be corrected and improved that were
taken, for example in strong backlight or with a very dark background.
The effect of each set up exposure value can be checked on the display before
scanning.
