Using
6. After a successful installation a new window with a correspond-
ing message appears. Concluding click on the “ Finish ” button.
7. Double click on the AMCap icon or follow this path to start the
software: “ Programs ” -> “ USB video device ” -> “ AMCap ”.
Capturing Snapshots / Saving Images
Open the USB Video Device window by double clicking on the USB
Video Device icon in the system window “
My Computer ”. The
preview window of the microscope’s camera appears.
1. Position the object you want to magnify in front of you on a level
surface.
2. Direct the camera towards the object that you want to magnify. In
case the object is very small, hold the camera up to a few milli-
metres in front of the object.
3. Turn the wing nut (4) at the base stand (5) clockwise to fix the
position of the microscope. Of course, the microscope can be
operated hand-held as well.
4. Turn the focus wheel (8) clockwise or counter clockwise to adjust
the focus of the image.
5. If required, use the illumination switch (6) to turn on the 8 white
LEDs in order to illuminate the object you want to magnify. For
weak light slide the switch in the position

LEDs shine brighter.
6. Click on the button “Take a new picture” in the area “Camera
tasks” or press the snapshot key (7) on the microscope. The
current freeze frame image of the microscope is saved as a new
still image. All images created this way appear in a list below the
preview window of the microscope’s camera.
7. In this list right click on the file name of the desired image to
show a larger preview of the image or to save it in the folder “ My
images ” for example.
