Using
4. Unplug the power plug from the wall socket and pour out remaining water
from the basic unit (5) and the drip tray (4).
5. Allow the basic unit to cool down and clean it with soapy water as long as the
basic unit is still warm. By doing this, calcification can be removed easily.
Steam Baskets
The steam baskets are dishwasher-safe and microwave proof. If necessary heat
up the ready cooked food in the steam baskets into the microwave. Close the
steam basket with the lid and heat up the food as usual.
Please note that colouring food such as carrots, pepper and tomatoes can
discolour the plastic parts of the food steamer set. Discolouring does not impact
the function.
Hints for Steaming Food
The food steamer is perfect for cooking vegetables, fish, meat and poultry.
Steaming is a most gentle and healthy way of preparing food.
Please note that the large steam basket must be placed on the basic unit first.
When cooking marinated food use the bowl (10) and place the bowl with the
food into the large steam basket. This bowl can be used for food that loses
liquid during steaming. The bowl can also be used for preparing soups.
When cooking different food with different cooking times, place the food with
the shortest cooking time on top and the food with the longest cooking time at
the bottom of the device.
Add spices when steaming is finished.
Thaw frozen food such as meat, fish etc. prior to place it in the food steamer.
Frozen vegetables do not need to be thawed.
Do not place the portioned food too close together, otherwise steam cannot
rise sufficiently.
If possible portion the food into equal parts. Cut off thick stems and remove
stalk (e. g. when cutting broccoli, cauliflower etc.)
When steaming large parts, turn around during half time cooking.
Steam leafy and green vegetables for the shortest possible time as they will
lose colour easily.
