Operation
Using dull knives, you can also remove easily detachable materials (glue or flak-
ing paint remains) from soft base materials (e.g. aluminium, wood).
The wood chisel (6) is suited for carving work in soft wood with short fibres (e.g.
linden, cottonwood).
Spatulas (8) are recommended for working on soft or sensitive surfaces (e.g.
wood, plastic, glass) because of its elasticity. You may use them to remove paint
residues, silicon and plaster and roughcast from glass and plastic plates, smooth-
ing and removing adhesive and sealing residues from parquet flooring.
Maintenance and Care
ƒ Before undertaking any maintenance or cleaning work, pull off the power plug.
ƒ Keep the unit clean at all times. The ventilation louvers must be free from for-
eign objects.
ƒ To clean the unit, use only a moist cloth.
ƒ
Do not immerse the unit in liquids of any kind and do not allow any liquids to
enter the machine.
ƒ
The steel tools (5, 6, 7, 8) get dull after using some time and they must be
sharpened. Please use an aluminium oxide abrasive stone for re-sharpening
the tools and wet-sand them.
ƒ When sharpened dry, the material can anneal and loose its hardness.
ƒ
If you do not have access to a suitable wet stone, you can use a belt grinder to
re-sharpen the tools.
ƒ
Please take care not to overheat the cutting edges.
ƒ Cool the tool with a moist cloth again and again while sharpening.
