Installation instructions:
1.)
Remove the rear bumper. Take out the spare wheel.
Lift/remove the boot floor cover on the left and right next to the spare wheel well over the longitudinal
beams.
Unhook and remove the exhaust system end muffler and the heat protection panel.
Disassemble the tow eyelet console (not applicable) from the right underside of the longitudinal
beam. This console has to be refitted to the vehicle should the towed-vehicle assembly be
disassembled at a later time.
2.)
Place reinforcement

in the left of the boot / spare wheel well. Align the edges
"x"
and
"y"
along the
tail plate and mark/punch the bore holes
"a", "b", "c"
on the boot floor near the longitudinal beam
and also the bore holes
"d", "e"
on the left side panel of the spare wheel well.
Remove the reinforcement

and drill a ø22 mm hole through the car body at
"a"
, ø9 mm holes at
"b", "c"
, and a ø13 mm hole at
"d", "e"
and then remove the burrs.
3.)
Place the spacer tube

in the longitudinal beam at
"a"
and the reinforcement
4
into the boot. Put plate

under the longitudinal beam and loosely fasten with countersunk screw M10x100, washer
10.5x30x3, and nut M10.
Place the shackles

onto the car body from below and loosely screw them on at
"b"
using the M8x35
bolts, 8.4x24x2 washers, and M8 nuts and at
"c"
using the M8x40 countersunk screw, 8.4x24x2
washer, and M8 nut.
4.)
Place the basic frame

onto the car body from below and loosely screw them on at
"e"
using the
M12x40 bolt, 13x24x2.5 washers, and M12 nuts and at
"f"
using the M8x35 countersunk screw,
8.4x24x2 washers, and M8 nuts.
Push the spacer tube

between the basic frame
1
and the spare wheel well at
"d"
and fasten it with
the M12x85 bolt, 13x24x2.5 washers and M12 nuts.
5.)
Mark / punch the bore hole position
"g"
on the boot floor, bore ø22 mm, and remove burrs. Next place
the spacer tube

in the longitudinal beam, put plate

onto it and loosely fasten with countersunk
screw M10x100, washer 10.5x30x3, and nut M10.
6.)
Push the receiving lug

between the panels at
"j", "h"
and loosely fasten it with the M12x90 bolts,
12.5x24x2.5 washers and M12 nuts.
7.)
Align the towed-vehicle assembly and tighten all bolts/nuts.
Torque:
at
"b", "c", "f"
for M8
= 20 Nm
at
"a", "g"
for M10 = 57 Nm
at
"e", "d", "j", "h"
for M12 = 95 Nm
8.)
Attach the electrical system. Lay out the socket wire lane, but don't mount the socket.
9.)
Cut out the heat protection plate according to the diagram

and fasten to the vehicle. Attach the end
muffler.
Cut out the lower centre portion of the bumper using the enclosed template. The line
"YO"
corresponds to the centre of the vehicle. Apply the template from the outside. Now attach the bumper
to the vehicle and lay out the socket wire lane through the cut-out. Attach holder

to the basic frame

at

using the M8x35 bolt, 8.4x24x2 washers, and M8 nuts. Attach the bumper at
"l"
.
Loosen the connection at
"h"
and also screw on the socket holder

Torque: at

for M12

95 Nm
Mount the socket of the electrical system.
Replace the boot floor coverings and stow the spare wheel.
