2.2.2 PV module connections
The
WRM60 X
charge controller, thanks to its MPPT charging circuit, allows a wide range of photovoltaic modules
to be used, guaranteeing optimum exploitation of all power. The photovoltaic string must have a maximum Voc
(open circuit voltage) of less than 180V and a maximum power voltage (Vmp) greater than the nominal battery
voltage. Exceeding the maximum string voltage of 180V causes damage to the circuit. Each photovoltaic string
must have a maximum power of less than Ppv
in
Tab.5
. If the PV string exceeds the Ppv the WRM60 X will limit
the power absorbed by the string.
The connections used are MC4 type, take care to respect the polarity of the inputs. Do not plug or unplug the
connectors under voltage as this may damage the device - due to an electric arc (to avoid this risk, use the menu
function 7.5 "PAUSE charge" = ON).
2.2.4
WBUS
connection
Pic.13 - WBUS connection section
The
WBUS
connection is RJ11 type and the supplied straight cable must be used to connect the various devices.
There are two connections (JP7 and JP6) which allow the bus to be redirected to continue the chain (see diagram
A2
in the
Appendix
). Only in the last device in the chain should the jumper (JP5) be inserted. The pinout is shown
in
Pic.13
.
The connector (JP7) with an RJ12 plug, and jumpers J3 and J2 inserted, provides battery power (max 0.8A) on the
external pins as an option for connection to an external WRD (obviously only to be used in the Slave version). See
diagram
A4
in the
Appendix
.
3. SYSTEM START-UP AND TESTING
1.
Install the WRM60 X in a dry, dust-free and properly ventilated place, fixed on a non-flammable surface
and positioned in such a way as to leave an obstacle-free space of at least 10cm around the device that
allows for natural air convection cooling or forced cooling by the internal fan.
2.
Carry out all power and signal connections with the system disconnectors open and in any case in such a
way that there is no voltage on the connections.
3.
Ensure that all WRM60 X in the system have dip-switches set to different address numbers. Do not set
address 32.
4.
Once the connections have been made and rechecked, first close the battery disconnector and check,
using the LEDs, that all devices are performing the reset sequence and that they detect the correct system
voltage.
5.
At this point, act on the Master device, enter the WBUS-CONFIG menu and perform AutoConfig (if this is
not available, set the "U.I.Mode" item to "Advanced" in Menu 7.4). Ensure that all devices are found and
save the configuration, otherwise search for the cause and repeat the procedure.
6.
Enter the SYSTEM menu and make all settings, in particular the Batt.Type according to the battery in the
system.
7.
At Menu 2.0 make sure that the nominal system voltage is correct, also check that the other parameters
are congruent (Battery temperature, Battery voltage, End of charge voltage, System check running)
