Adding a Device
The
Add
button at lower left
opens a new row with blank fields to add a device IP address
and description. This is shown in Figure 9.
The blank IP Address field initially appears outlined in red with an Errors message informing the
user that the field is required. A tooltip message “
This field is required
” similarly prompts for the
IP Address.
IP addresses must conform to the
LAN Settings
(shown on the
Network
display). An attempt to
enter an IP address which does not conform to the LAN settings will generate an error message.
A
Description
must be entered to add a device. An error message will appear if the user attempts
to save a new device without a description. In that and other scenarios with improper or rejected
IP Address or Description entries, the added device row will appear highlighted with a red
triangle in the corner
. Unless the fields are corrected, that row will be deleted upon
logout.
Once the IP Address and Description are added, the user then clicks the
Update
button to save
the added device or the
Cancel
button to cancel the addition. In Figure 11, the cursor is
positioned to click the Update button to add a device.
