2 Your safety is important to us
Electric shock
• The wall arm version should only be used with a correctly earthed
socket outlet with earthing contact.
• Do not squash or kink the mains cable d .
• Before cleaning and changing the air filter, switch off the appliance
at the ON/OFF switch a and remove the power plug e .
• Protect the appliance from splashing and do not use a wet cloth for
cleaning.
• Only ever dry clean the airflow grille 4 and temperature sensor
5 with a brush or use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment.
• Make sure that no foreign bodies can enter openings. Do not insert
any objects into openings in the equipment.
• Do not use sharp objects, e.g. a tail comb, to remove dust or foreign
bodies.
Do not operate the appliance with wet hands and protect from
splashing.
Risk of injury
• Under no circumstances should the appliance be left unattended as
long as the power plug

is still inserted.
• The use of the appliance requires supervision. Special attention is
required around children or infirm persons in particular.
• The transparent plastic film poses a risk of suffocation to children.
Keep the packaging away from children.
• This appliance may only be used for the intended purpose specified
in these operating instructions (see “Section 2.1” page 32).
• Only accessories approved by the manufacturer should be used.
Sudden release of the spring arm (only wall-mounted version):
• The spring arm of the wall-mounted version contains a powerful
spring. When the appliance is dismantled, the spring arm is
suddenly released upwards and may cause serious injury.
• The appliance may only be mounted / dismantled by a specialist
(electrician, technical expert) or staff with a comparable
qualification according to the valid instructions.
Sudden drop of wall arm (only wall-mounted version):
• Do not place any additional loads on the wall arm n .
