Maintenance 

Removing Carbon Media

1. Turn off water at supply valve or at main valve to home.
2.  Open faucet in home to relieve pressure from E-Treat system, 

then place the system into the bypass position. Once placed 

in the bypass position, the main water supply valve can be 

turned to the ON position to restore water flow to the home.

3.  Loosen nuts on bypass valve to E-Treat system as shown  

in Diagram A.

4.  Separate E-Treat system from bypass valve as shown in 

Diagram B.

5.  Unscrew head from tank counterclockwise as shown  

in Diagram C.

6. Use a wet/dry vacuum to extract carbon from vessel.
7.  Start the vacuum and slowly push the hose into carbon bed 

as shown in Diagram D. Add water as needed until all carbon 

is removed.
