1. Use and Application
Your Protank is a premium quality, indoor, mains pressure domestic hot water cylinder built tough to provide many
years of trouble free, high pressure hot water.
Protank installation, servicing and repairs should all be carried out only by a qualified tradesperson. Improper
installation, adjustment, alteration, service or maintenance is illegal, will void any warranty and can cause property
damage, personal injury or loss of life..

• Manufactured from premium grade 2304 Duplex stainless steel with a 20 year limited warranty (refer warranty
terms and conditions for details).
• 120L, 180L, 250L, 300L, 350L and 400L options
• Available with or without the Caleffi ‘direct mount mono-block’ combo set which can save up to 50% in
installation time.
• Top entry and exit ports for easy reach and narrow installation spaces.
• A concealed 2304 Duplex stainless steel dip tube takes the cold to the bottom of the tank.
• TPR and cold water expansion valve vertically aligned for easy waste connection.
• The direct mount mono-block manifold features a return port for easy recirculating ring main configuration.
• 20mm or 25mm high flow ports according to tank size.
• Dual elements on models 250L and over.
• Two direct solar ports and three thermostat probe pockets on models 250L and over.
• Textured white powder coated external finish
2. Essential Installation Requirements
Drip Trays
A hot cylinder is a vessel containing water which has the potential to unexpectedly leak water. To minimise damage
to other areas of your home, ensure that your cylinder has been installed with a drip tray – consequential damage
resulting from the absence of a drip tray will not be accepted under any circumstances.

• Current AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3500, and G12/AS1
• Local regulations and municipal building codes
3. Safety Devices
Your Protank hot water cylinder is fitted with the following safety equipment which should remain in perfect
working order;
Temperature & Pressure and Relief (TPR) Valve
Ensures the water remains at a safe pressure and temperature.
Automatic Thermostat
Maintains the set water temperature inside the cylinder.
Heating Element Over-Temperature Cut-out.
In the case of a standard cylinder (not installed in a solar application), the operation of the thermal cut-out can
indicate a dangerous situation. Do not reset the thermal cut-out until the water heater has been serviced by a
suitably qualified tradesperson
Cylinder Thermostat Setting
To meet the New Zealand G12 Building Code requirement to disinfect water for legionella bacteria, the cylinder
thermostat has been set to 62 °C.
