Installing or replacing a column plate in the column compartment

3. Insert the stainless-steel tubing, with ferrule, into the column.
4. Seat the ferrule by finger tightening the dual-threaded fitting.
Requirement:
Do not rotate the stainless-steel silver cap nut when
seating the ferrule.
5. Complete the connection by finger tightening the cap nut onto the
dual-threaded fitting.
Installing or replacing a column plate in the column

Note:
The illustrations in the following procedure depict a column installed in
position 3 on a column plate in a UPC
2
system. If you are installing or
replacing a column plate in an APC system, the column bank will be attached
at either fitting position 1a or 2a.
Required materials
• Column support clips
• Gloves: clean, powder-free, chemical-resistant
• Reusable fitting
Warning:
To prevent burn injuries, set the column temperature to Off,
and then allow the column compartment and its components to cool for
60 minutes before touching them. Monitor the column-compartment
internal temperature to ensure all components are cool.
Notice:
To prevent contaminating system components, wear clean,
chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves when installing a column plate.
