Replacing the saw chain sprocket

SPECIFICATIONS

Saw chain sprocket: Cap-screw
torque

100 Nm
105 lb-ft

CAUTION: To reduce the risk of injury during

maintenance and/or service procedures, ensure
you: lower the attachment to the ground; stop
the engine; turn off any master shut-offs; and
do not allow personnel in the cab.

CAUTION: To reduce the risk of injury when

working on or with the saw chain, ensure you
wear the correct safety gloves and remove
the saw chain when making any adjustments
or servicing the saw unit.

NOTE: The saw chain sprocket requires the same

level of attention and maintenance as other
parts of the saw unit.

NOTE: A worn saw chain sprocket may cause damage

to the saw bar or to the saw chain. If the saw
chain sprocket has been damaged, it cannot be
repaired, it can only be replaced.

1. Remove the 12-millimetre cap-screw (6).

2. Remove the saw chain catcher (5).

3. Remove the saw chain-sprocket (4).

4. Remove the shim (2).

5. Ensure the spacer (1) is not worn or damaged; if you

identify evidence of wear and/or damage, replace the
spacer.

6. Re-install the shim (2).

7. Install a new saw chain-sprocket.

8. Re-install the saw chain catcher (5).
