General safety precautions
IMPORTANT: Only use the felling in such a manner
as to project debris directly away from the
cab. To mitigate the risk of debris projectiles,
and to avoid serious injury to the operator
and/or damage to the machine, it may be
necessary to replace the front window with a
window capable of withstanding significant
impacts. Only allow qualified, fully-trained
personnel to operate this felling head.
The FL85 felling head has a continuous rotation feature;
this feature may result in debris and foreign objects being
directed towards the operators' cab.
Due to its continuous rotation capability, it is extremely
important all personnel follow
all safety precautions during
machine operation, inspection, maintenance, and/or
servicing.
IMPORTANT: Use caution when manoeuvring the
felling head close to the carrier; failing to
exercise caution may result in damage to the
carrier and/or the felling head.

Felling head manoeuvres can cause the felling head to
make contact with the track, increasing the risk of serious
injury and/or equipment damage.
IMPORTANT: The felling head can fall unpredictably
when the engine is shut down. In the event
you cannot restart the engine, lower the felling
head to the ground and release the trees from
the grapple arms before exiting the cab. DO
NOT exit the cab and approach the felling head
until is lowered to the ground and any trapped
hydraulic pressure has been released.
If the engine shuts down with the felling head not in the
parking position, restart the engine and position the felling
head on the ground in a stabilised position. Always park
the carrier so the felling head is on level ground before
turning the engine OFF and exiting the operator's cab.
