Recognise safety information

This is the safety alert symbol; when you see this
symbol, be alert for the risk of personal injury.

Follow the precautions and safe operating practices

Operating precautions

1. Prior to starting work, check all equipment controls

and ensure the felling head responds correctly.

2. Maintain a safe operating distance between the

equipment and other personnel. Never swing
the boom, attachment, or load over the heads of
bystanders.

3. Ensure you raise the felling head before moving the

vehicle and, when traveling, keep the head high
enough to clear stumps or other low-lying objects.

4. Strictly adhere to all regulations at the work site for

safe operation of this equipment.

Keep clear of the saw

Do not stand or work in the cutting direction of the
chain-saw while the machine is running. In the event of
a chain link breaking, the chain can fly off the saw bar at
high speed. The chain shot hazard zone is approximately
15-degrees towards the rear of the sprocket and in front
of the bar-tip.

During tree felling operations, keep all personnel 90
metres (300 feet) away from the felling head.

As servicing the felling head while the engine is running
is extremely hazardous, ensure you turn off the carrier’s
engine before carrying out any service or maintenance
work; this will remove the hydraulic power to the felling
head.
