11�3 Firmware updates
W&T publishes firmware updates for the Microwall in order to
eliminate functional errors, possibly discovered vulnerabilities
or also to extend functions. The upload to the device is car-
ried out either with the help of the WuTility management tool
or via the Microwall‘s web-based management.
To protect against manipulation of the firmware files and thus
possible compromise of the devices, all update files for the
Microwall are encrypted and signed by W&T.
Update files always contain the entire firmware or the entire
system of the Microwall. For this reason, firmware updates are
always associated with a restart of the Microwall and thus also
an interruption of the operational mode. Individual configura-
tion data (IP parameters, firewall rules, etc.) are not affected
by a firmware update and remain intact.
11�3�1 Where is the latest firmware available?
The latest firmware including the available update tools and
a revision list is published on our website at the following
address
https://www.wut.de
The easiest way to navigate from there is to use the search
function on the page. First enter the type number of your de-
vice in the input field.
If you do not know the type number, you can find it on the
sticker on the narrow side of the housing, which also contains
the Ethernet address.
