WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM 750
Device Description 19
750-489 4AI RTD/TC/Strain Gauge Ex i
Manual
Version 1.1.0, valid from FW Version 02

Device Description
The 750-489 I/O Module (4AI RTD/TC/Strain Gauge Ex i) processes signals
from sensors located in the hazardous field area of zone 0 or zone 1. Resistance
temperature devices (“RTDs”), thermocouples (“TC”), millivolt transmitters,
resistors, resistor bridges (“SG” – strain gauge), potentiometers and PTC
thermistors can be connected.
Cold junction compensation for thermal modules is channel by channel within the
I/O module.

Assigning the connections is described in section “Connections.” Connection
examples are given in section “Connecting Devices” > ... > “Connection
Example(s).”
One green status LED per channel indicates the operating status and error-free
local bus communication. One red error LED per channel indicates a
measurement underrange/overrange, an overflow or an underflow.
You can find details of the individual signal types in section “Process Image” >
“Process Data.”
Any I/O module configuration is possible in the design of the fieldbus node, if the
power jumper contacts are taken into account. An arrangement in blocks within
the potential group is not necessary.
The 750-489 I/O module can be used with the fieldbus couplers/controllers of the
WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM 750 listed in the “Compatibility list” table starting with the
version indicated:
