3 Lifting and Transporting
Lifting the
Machine
This machine is heavy enough to cause injury if proper lifting techniques are not
used. Observe the following guidelines when lifting the floorsaw.
„
Do not attempt to lift the machine unassisted. Use appropriate lifting equipment
such as slings, chains hooks, ramps or jacks.
„
Make sure lifting equipment is attached securely and has enough weight-
bearing capacity to lift or hold the pump safely.
„
Remain aware of the location of other people nearby when lifting the machine.
Transporting
the Machine
Observe the following guidelines when transporting the floorsaw to and from the
job site.
„
Drain the fuel tank before transporting the machine.
„
Ensure that the machine is securely strapped down in the transport vehicle to
prevent it from sliding or tipping.
Tie-down points:
„
Do not refuel the machine in or on the transport vehicle. Move the machine to
it’s operating location and then fill the fuel tank.
„
Empty the water tank!
„
Remove the cutting blade prior to transport. Set the lowest cutting position on
the floor saw.
„
Remove the water tank and attach the hoisting gear on the transport strap for
lifting.
„
If you transport the floor saw on the cargo area of a vehicle, strap it down
securely on the special safety bar.
„
Fold up the guide wheel and stirrup handle.
„
Handles, guide wheel and other operating controls must not be used as
attachment points.
