7.9.3
General information
• Do not take apart, open or deform rechargeable batteries.
• Do not short-circuit rechargeable batteries.
• Do not store rechargeable batteries in a box or draw as this can pose
hazards where they can short out each other or be shorted out by an-
other conductive material.
• Use rechargeable batteries for their intended purpose and protect
them from damage.
• Keep rechargeable batteries away from children.
• Seek immediate medical attention if rechargeable battery compo-
nents are swallowed accidentally.
• Use rechargeable batteries only in those applications for which they
are intended.
• If possible, take the rechargeable battery out of the machine when it
is not being used.
• If possible, take the rechargeable battery out of the machine when it
is being loaded and transported.
• In the event of prolonged storage, remove the rechargeable battery
from the machine and store it in the original battery transport box.
– Store in a dry and well-ventilated room.

• Dispose of properly.
• In the event of fire:
– Decommission the machine immediately.
– Remove injured persons and others from the danger zone.
– Stay away from vapors and gases, observe wind direction!
– Extinguish only with water, do not use a direct stream of water.

Specific charger-related safety instructions
7.10.1
External influences
• Avoid penetration of water into the battery charger.
• Only use the battery charger indoors and keep away from rain and
moisture.
• If it is not possible to avoid working in a damp environment, a residual
current circuit breaker must be used.
• Always keep the battery charger clean and dry.
• Do not expose the battery charger to any mechanical impacts.
• If the connections are dirty, clean these with a dry and clean cloth.
• Protect the connection cable from any aggressive media (e.g. oil),
sharp edges or moving machine parts.
• Do not operate the battery charger in freezing temperatures,

• The battery charger may not be exposed to heat (e.g. direct sunlight)
or fire.
