Assembly:
1. Inspect bearing sleeve
(q)
inside blade lift ring.
If excessively worn or damaged, replace. Lubricate
with anti-seize compound. Slide over spider.
2. If trowel blade pivots
(p, r)
were disassembled, apply
Loctite 243 or equivalent and reinstall.
3. Slide trowel arms
(o)
through trowel blade pivots into
spider
(g

. Apply Loctite 243 or equivalent to four
retaining screws
(h)
and install screws and grease
fittings
(n)
. Torque to 30 ft.lbs (41 Nm). Grease
fittings with Alvania #2 or equivalent.
4. On CT48 models only, apply Loctite 243 or equivalent
to four M8 bolts. Install retaining ring to trowel arm.
Using thickness gauge, tighten bolts until 1/16"
remains between retaining ring and trowel arm.
5. Check for free movement of lifting ring over spider.
Trowel blades should pivot freely. Slide blade
assembly over gearcase output shaft.
6. Apply Loctite 243 or equivalent to screw. Install
screw
(m)
and washer
(k)
through spider to gearcase
output shaft. Carefully hold the trowel arms and
torque to 16 ft.lbs. (22 Nm). Install plastic plug
(n)
into
bottom of spider.
7. Check cam follower bearing
(e)
for free movement.
If bearings bind or are damaged, replace. If
disassembled from trowel blade lift yoke, apply
Loctite 243 or equivalent and reinstall.
8. If necessary, reinstall pitch control cable
(b)
to fork

. Install fork around lifting ring.
9. Slide shaft
(c)
through fork and gearcase. Install
retaining ring
(d)
