TLE BASS

About Nutube
Nutube is a new type of vacuum tube developed in
tandem by KORG INC. and NORITAKE ITRON COR-
PORATION. Nutube utilizes technology distilled from
vacuum fluorescent displays.
As with conventional vacuum tubes, the Nutube is
constructed with an anode, and a grid and filament. It
functions as a complete triode tube. Furthermore,
Nutube generates the familiar response, and same rich
harmonic characteristics which conventional vacuum
tubes are known for.

1.
VOLUME knob: This adjusts the overall volume.
TIP
The power amp section of the VOX MINI SU-
PERBEETLE BASS is equipped with a limiter.
Playing with the VOLUME knob turned up will
create a clear, and more compressed tone.
2.
Power button, LED: Hold down this button to turn
on or off the amplifier.
3.
BASS knob: This controls the low frequencies in
your tone.
4.
Lo-MID knob: This controls the low-mid range
frequencies in your tone.
5.
Hi-MID knob: This controls the high-mid range
frequencies in your tone.
6.
TREBLE knob: This controls the high frequencies
in your tone.
7.
FUZZ switch: Use this switch to turn on the fuzz
circuit, adding a complex harmonic fuzzed out
distortion to your tone.
8.
COMP switch: Use this switch to turn on the
compressor circuit, adding smooth compression
and sustain to your tone.
TIP
If the FUZZ switch and COMP switch are both
engaged, a distorted tone will be blended with
the bass characteristics inherent of a clean,
compressed tone. This creates a unique, dis-
torted tone without bass loss that is typical of
many types of distortion.
TIP
The power amp limiter does not turn off, even
when the COMP switch is switched off.
9.
GAIN knob:
This determines the preamp volume.
10.
INPUT jack: Plug your bass guitar in here. Make
sure that you use a shielded guitar cable.

PHONES / LINE jack: Use this jack if you want to
send the output of the amplifier directly to a mixer
or a recording device, or when you want to use
headphones. The output level is adjusted with the
VOLUME knob.
When a cable is connected to this jack, no sound
will be output from the SPEAKER OUTPUT jack.
12.
AUX IN jack: You can connect an audio device to
this jack. This is a stereo mini jack.
The VOLUME knob and equalizer knobs will
not affect the sound of a device that’s connected
to the AUX IN jack.
13.
DC 19 V jack: Connect the included AC adapter
here.
14.
SPEAKER OUTPUT jack: Connect the speaker
cable to this jack. Connect the included speaker
cabinet to any of the jacks.
The speaker’s minimum impedance is 4-ohms.
You’ll get an output of approximately 50 Watts at
4-ohms, 25 Watts at 8-ohms, and 12.5 Watts with a
16-ohm load.
Make sure that the impedance of the speaker
cabinet is not less than 4-ohms.
This amplifier utilizes a BTL (Bridge-Tied-Load)
output. This means both the tip and sleeve are
used as the signal line, and the sleeve is not
grounded. Only use this jack for connecting
speakers to the amp. Connecting anything else
may result in damages to the amplifier.
The VOX MINI SUPERBEETLE BASS has a
built-in protection system that prevents dam-
age, should unusual circumstances occur. If the
sound cuts out for a few seconds, don’t worry,
this is the amp protecting itself, and your speak-
ers. If this happens, simply reduce the volume
on the amp a little bit. (This protection only
occurs when using 16-ohms speakers. 8-ohms
and 4-ohms speakers are unaffected.)
Speaker Cabinet Section
The speaker cabinet of the VOX MINI SUPERBEETLE
BASS has one custom-made 8-inch, 4-ohms VOX
speaker. Just plug into the cabinet and you’ll hear the
unique, characteristic VOX tone!
