Capability Expanding
This chapter explains how you can expand capability of your CPU board in such
aspects as system memory, cache memory, and CPU.
3-1 System Memory
Your system memory is provided by DIMM's (Dual In-line Memory Modules) on
the CPU board. The CPU board contains four memory banks: Bank 0, 1, 2, 3,
corresponds to connector DIMM1, DIMM2, DIMM3 and DIMM4.
The table below shows possible DIMM configurations for the memory banks and
the figure helps you correctly install the DIMM mo dules. See Figure 3-2 for
memory bank's location.
You can also use the DIMM with parity check. The ECC (Error Checking and
Correction) could be turned on if parity DIMMS are used. The ECC will correct
one bit error and report two bit errors. Please be noted that the PEAK 6220 only
supports the SDRAM.
