7. COMMISSIONING
a) Inserting the battery
Before you can work with the meter for the first time, you need to insert a new 9 V block battery (alkaline). Insert the
battery as described in the chapter “Cleaning and maintenance”.
b) Sensor connections
The sensors for wind speed, lighting strength, temperature and humidity are connected via the connection field
on the left housing side. For this, open the cover (16). Carefully lever it away at the lower end with your fingernail.
Close the flap after the end of measuring to protect the sockets from contamination.
c) Setting up the meter/stand mounting
The meter can be attached to an optional stand via the rear stand connection socket. This permits sound level
measurements without the user influencing the sound progress.
d) Automatic power-off
To avoid unnecessary shortening of the service life of the battery, an automatic deactivation is integrated. The meter
is switched off automatically when no button has been pushed for approx. 15 minutes. The meter can be switched
on again via the “POWER” button (3).
Automatic deactivation cannot be deactivated.
e) Switching the device on and off
To switch the device on, push the operating button (8) briefly once. After a brief initiation phase (display and system
test), the meter is ready for use.
To deactivate it, keep the operating button (8) pushed for approx. 2 s until the display goes out. During deactivation,
the “OFF” display appears and the meter switches off.
