INITIAL oPERATIoN
5.
General
For the operation of the power supply unit you need a mains lead with shock-proof plug (not included). Connect
the mains lead to the IEC inlet (8) on the rear side of the power supply unit and plug the mains plug into an
earthed mains socket.
The power supply unit is not a charger. To charge batteries, use suitable chargers with a
charging current cut-off.
Adjusting the output voltage
Make sure no load is connected to the power supply unit.
•
Switch on the power supply using the power switch (2); the power indicator (1) should light up.
•
Adjust the voltage as desired using the DC voltage control (5). You can monitor the output voltage in the
•
display (6).
Connecting a Load
Make sure the load is switched off.
•
Verify that the correct output voltage has been set.
•
Connect the positive terminal (+) of the load with the red socket „+“ (4) and the negative ter-minal of the load
•
with the blue socket „-“ (3).
The connection is made with standard 4mm plugs.
•
Make sure that the load is switched off when being connected to the power supply unit. A
load that is switched on can cause sparking when being connected to the sockets. This
can damage the sockets as well as the connected cables.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
6.
Except for replacing the fuse and occasional cleaning, the power supply unit does not require any maintenance.
To clean the unit, use a clean, lint-free, antistatic and slightly damp cleaning tissue without any abrasive, chemical
or solvent-containing cleaning agent.
Caution: Always pull the mains plug from the mains socket before cleaning the unit.
REPLACING THE FUSE
7.
If it is no longer possible to switch on the power unit, the mains fuse is probably defective.
Proceed as follows to replace the mains fuse:
Switch off the power supply unit and remove all connecting cables from the unit. Pull the mains plug from
•
the mains socket.
Using a suitable screwdriver, depress the fuse holder (9) on the rear side a little, and remove it with a quarter-
•
turn anti-clockwise rotation (bayonet cap).
Replace the defective fuse with a new fine-wire fuse (5x20 mm) of the same type and rated current:
•
T0.5A / 250V (slow-blow).
While pushing, screw the fuse plug clockwise back into the fuse holder.
•
TRoUBLESHooTING
8.
By purchasing this power supply unit you have acquired a product that has been designed to the state of the art
and which is operationally reliable.
Nevertheless, problems or faults may occur.
Therefore, we would like to describe here how to eliminate possible faults:
Always adhere to the safety instructions!
Problem
Solution
The power indicator is off.
No mains voltage?
Check the line safety switch of this mains socket.
•
Check whether the mains plug is seated correctly in the mains socket.
•
Check the mains fuse in the power supply unit.
•
Is the power supply unit overloaded?
Remove the load and check the technical data.
•
Connected loads does not
function.
Is the voltage set correctly?
Is the polarity correct?
Is the power supply unit overloaded?
Check the technical data of the loads.
•
Repairs other than those described should only be carried out by an authorised specialist.
Regularly check the technical safety of the device e.g. for damaged housing etc.
In the event of unauthorised modifications or repairs on or in the device, the guarantee
will lapse.
DISPoSAL
9.
In order to preserve, protect and improve the quality of environment, protect human health and
utilise natural resources prudently and rationally, the user should return unserviceable product to
relevant facilities in accordance with statutory regulations.
The crossed-out wheeled bin indicates the product needs to be disposed separately and not as
municipal waste.
