Setup
a) Inserting/replacing the batteries
• Unscrew the battery compartment cover
(6)
in an anticlockwise direction.
• Insert the two CR2032 batteries (included) into the battery compartment, ensuring that they
are inserted in the correct polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/- markings). The polarity is
indicated in the battery compartment.
• Replace the battery compartment cover
(6)
and tighten it by turning it clockwise. Ensure that
sealing ring in the battery compartment cover is in the correct position.
• Replace the batteries when the display contrast drops significantly or if you are unable to
switch on the device.
• If the battery level is too low, the device will automatically switch off 3 seconds after it is swit-
ched on. If this occurs, replace the batteries. To replace the batteries, proceed as follows:
• Open the battery compartment cover
(6)
by turning it anticlockwise.
• Remove the used batteries.
• Insert two new CR2032 batteries into the battery compartment, ensuring that they are inser-
ted in the correct polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/- markings). The polarity is indicated
in the battery compartment.
• Replace the battery compartment cover
(6)
and tighten it by turning it clockwise. Ensure that
sealing ring in the battery compartment cover is in the correct position.
b) Pre/post-measurement procedures
1. Remove the protective cap
(2)
.
2. Unscrew the probe cap
(8)
and place it carefully to one side. Be careful not to spill any
electrolyte. Replace spilled electrolyte before replacing the probe cap.
3. Rinse the probe tip
(9)
with clean water and wipe it dry.
4. Press the button
(4)
to switch on the device.
5. When you have finished taking measurements, screw the probe cap
(8)
back onto the
measurement probe
(7)
.
• If you run out of electrolyte, you can purchase more as an accessory.
The measurement probe
(7)
is a consumable part with a limited lifespan. For this
reason, the measurement probe is not covered by the warranty/guarantee.
Operating instructions
Redox measurement stick ORP-01
Item no. 1763393
Intended use
This product is designed to be used in combination with suitable electrodes to measure the
redox potential (ORP) of water and aqueous solutions. Typical applications include drinking wa-
ter, waste water, surface water, swimming pools, fish farms and process chemistry. The redox
potential indicates how oxidative or reductive the measured probe is in relation to the standard
hydrogen electrode. It is measured and displayed in mV. The redox potential is often used in
swimming pools to measure the disinfecting effect of chlorinated water. The redox value is also
an important parameter for fishkeepers, as fish can only live within a certain redox range. In
addition, it plays an important role in drinking water treatment, water monitoring and in industry
and laboratories. The device is powered by two CR2032 lithium batteries.
