a) Zero adjustment
Zero the multimeter before each measurement using the adjustment screw (3). The scale indicator must be directly
above the scale value 0 V. No measuring signal may be applied to the test leads.
b) Direct and alternating current measurement
Never exceed the maximum permissible input values, even when measuring overlapped DC volt-
ages (e.g. ripple voltages).
Proceed as follows to measure direct voltages (DC):
- Turn the rotary switch to the measuring range V
.
- Connect the black test lead to the COM socket (6) and the red test lead to the VΩ
socket (7).
- Zero the multimeter using the adjustment screw (3).
- Make sure that the “Vrms/Vp-p” button (9) is not pressed.
- Verify correct polarity (red = positive potential (+) / black = negative potential (-))
and connect both test leads to the measuring object (battery, circuit, etc.).
- In case of reverse polarity, no value will be shown. The protective diode blocks
measurement. Interrupt the measurement and correct polarity before repeating the
measurement.
- Read the measured value from the “V” scale. In the 500 V measuring range, use the 50 V scale and multiply the
reading by 10.
- After measurement, turn the rotary switch to position “OFF” to turn off the multimeter.
Proceed as follows to measure alternating voltages (AC):
- Turn the rotary switch to the measuring range V
.
- Connect the black test lead to the COM socket (6) and the red test lead to the VΩ socket (7).
- Zero the multimeter using the adjustment screw (3).
- Connect both test leads to the measuring object (generator, circuit, etc.).
- Read the measured value from the “V” scale. In the 500 V measuring range, use the 50 V scale and multiply the
reading by 10.
- After measurement, turn the rotary switch to position “OFF” to turn off the multimeter.
In the alternating current measuring range, press the “Vrms/Vp-p” button (9) to toggle between displaying
the RMS value (Vrms) and peak value (Vp-p). When pressed, the peak value function (Vp-p) is active. This
measuring function is intended for symmetrical alternating currents only.
