7. GETTING STARTED
a) Inserting, replacing batteries
• Disconnect the measuring device from the mains voltage before
inserting or replacing the batteries; pull it out of the mains
socket. Remove the connected consumers from the protective-
earth socket of the measuring device.
• Open the battery compartment on the rear. The cover of the
battery compartment (6) is secured with 2 small screws.
• Insert two type “LR44” batteries, observing the correct polarity.
The plus pole of the two batteries has to point outwards towards
you.
• Replace the cover of the battery compartment again and screw it
down firmly.
• The batteries must be replaced when the display of the measu-
ring device can no longer be activated unless it is connected to
a mains socket, or when a “battery flat” symbol appears at the
bottom of the display.
If the measuring device is not connected to a mains socket,
the display and the measuring device switch off after about
15 seconds if no button is pressed (to save energy and
increase the battery life).
To re-activate the display, either briefly press any button or
connect the measuring device to a mains socket.
