Switch on and off
POWER (4)
The preamplifier is switched on and off using this button at the front panel.
It has no standby option. When switched off the device is internally separa-
ted from the AC power, in case it is not connected with “Power Control
Output“ (8). Otherwise switch off all devices connected to “Power Control
Output“ (8). The LED associated to the selected input channel (7) will be
illuminated if the device is switched on and not muted. As a precaution,
after switching on, the volume setting (5) of the preamplifier should be
reduced.

At the front panel: If you turn the dial “INPUT”, you select one of the devi-
ces connected to the inputs on the back of the SV-800 for playback.
Using the remote control: A short touch on the button for the desired input
channel (e.g. “S1”) changes to the playback of the audio source connec-
ted there.
The LED associated to the selected input channel will be illuminated at the
front of the appliance. Before switching over the input channel, the volume
(5)(15) should be turned down as a precaution!

(5)(15)
At the front panel: Turn the knob “VOLUME” clockwise to turn up the volu-
me and counter-clockwise to turn it down.
Using the remote control: Press and hold the button “VOLUME

its value. Use “VOLUME

The volume setting controls the speakers and the signal level but does never
influence the signal at the output “REC OUT” (10).

CLASS A
(2)
This button toggles between Class A and Class AB modes. In this way you
can switch from the better sounding Class A mode to the energy-saving
Class AB mode with less waste heat, for instance for sound reproduction
for a fête, where absolute high fidelity is not always necessary.

SPEAKER B
(6)
To play back music at least one loudspeaker must be attached to the
amplifier (a practical choice would be connectors “A”). The output you use
must be activated using the corresponding button “SPEAKER” (LED illumi-
nated). Only if a second speaker is used, it is necessary to activate the
second speaker output “B”.
