The appliance should not be
operated after the consump-
tion of alcohol, medications
which impair reactions, or
drugs.
Before initial use, advice
should be obtained from the
vendor or another expert.
Children, persons with impaired
physical, sensory or mental fa-
culties or those lacking the ap-
propriate experience, or
persons who are not familiar
with the instructions, must never
be allowed to use the machine.
Never allow children under the
age of 16 to use the machine.
Local regulations may specify a
minimum age for users.
This appliance is intended for
mowing grass, high grass and
non-woody plants (but not
woody plants); any other use is
not permitted.
Due to the physical danger to
the user, the appliance must
not be used (incomplete list):
For trimming bushes, hedges
and shrubs, for cutting cree-
pers, for care of lawn roofs
and of balcony boxes, for
clearing paths (vacuuming –
blowing – clearing snow), for
shredding and chopping tree
and hedge cuttings, for level-
ling earth mounds, e.g. mole
hills or for transporting cut-
tings.
Preparatory measures
- Always wear robust shoes
with high-grip soles
and long trousers
when mowing. Never
mow barefoot or, for in-
stance, in sandals.
- The machine must only be
operated by persons who
are well rested and in good
physical and mental condi-
tion. If your health is impai-
red, you should consult your
doctor to determine whether
working with the machine is
possible.
- Always wear suitable hea-
ring
protection
when mowing.
- Carefully inspect the com-
plete area on which the ap-
pliance is to be used and
remove any stones, sticks,
wires, bones and other fo-
reign objects which could
be thrown up by the appli-
ance.
- Before using, always ensure
that the cutting tool, the fa-
stening bolt and the entire
cutting unit are in good con-
dition. Replace parts if ne-
cessary.
- Before use, always check
that the guard bar and the
apron are properly atta-
ched.
- The switch mechanisms in-
stalled in the appliance
must not be removed or by-
passed, e.g. by fixing a con-
trol lever to the handlebar.
- Never use the appliance
with damaged safety devi-
ces, e.g. guard bar, apron,
mowing deck housing or
safety guards, without
functioning engine / blade
brakes or without the atta-
ched safety devices, e.g.
without the guard bar or wit-
hout the apron.
- The lawn mower must not
be operated with a dama-
ged or bent crankshaft.
Risk of injury through de-
fective parts!
- Only give (or lend) the ap-
pliance to persons who are
familiar with this model and
how to operate it – always
provide them with the in-
struction manual.
- Please observe the local re-
gulations regarding permit-
ted operation times for
powered gardening tools.
- Do not alter the basic set-
ting of the engine or run at
excessive engine speeds.
