Left Handlebar Switches

Starter Interlock Switch

The starter interlock switch is located on the left han-

dlebar. This switch prevents the electric starter from

operating when the transmission is in gear and the

clutch is engaged (lever released). Read the engine

starting procedures beginning on page 108 before start-

ing the engine.

WARNING!

Never start the engine with the transmission in

gear and the clutch disengaged unless you are properly

seated with the front brake applied.
