Selecting a stitch pattern
To select a particular pattern,
take the following steps:
Select
Stitch program
on the pro-
gramme selector.
Set the
stitch length
.
Select the
stitch width.
Attach the corresponding
sew foot,
as described in Chapter 8.
Make the required settings as shown in
the
table on the right
. If two values are
set for the stitch length, these are
understood as "from ... to ..." values.
g)
Straight stitch
This is the most frequently used type of
stitch. The zigzag sew foot is used for
both straight and zigzag stitches. A
smaller size of stitch should be selected
for sewing finer materials.
h)
Zigzag
The zigzag stitch is universal. The satin
stitch pattern consists of short stitches
set closely to each other, and is suitable
for sewing initials, figures, appliqué,
etc..
