5. The default V800MIU-3 addresses are 16 through 23 for VCRs 1 through 8, respectively. These defaults
mirror the DIP switch settings discussed in the MIU instruction manual. You may edit these addresses as
long as the addresses at the MIU and at the system console are consistent and each VCR has a unique
address. If the onscreen settings are incorrect, select the No soft key at the bottom of the screen.
6. Then enter the VCR unit number and press Enter. You will then be prompted to enter the correct MIU
address or select the Not Used soft key.
7. Press Enter and continue to edit until all addresses are correct for your system. If you have more than 8
VCRs, use the up and down soft keys at the right to page up and down.
8. Press the Yes soft key when your settings are correct to return to the Select System Category screen.
Defining AurorA Systems
When using the V800MIU-3 Multi-Output Interface Unit, you may include VCRs and AurorA99 (or AurorA)
multiplexers in your system using A99 protocol. You may also use VCRs, AurorA99 and AurorA multiplexers
in systems set for AurorANet “A2000” protocol, but you must make sure the MIU is defined for AurorANet
protocol. You may connect AurorA2000s and AurorAcorDs directly to the RS-485 AurorANet if you selected
A2000 protocol. For A99 protocol, you must define the MIU address. For A2000 (AurorANet) protocol, you
must define the multiplexer address.
Note: The next section contains details on setting addresses when using AurorAcorDs.
1. To access the AurorA System Configuration screen, press and hold the Shift ( ) key and then press the
F5 key to display the Main Setup screen.
2. Then press the System soft key. The Select System Category screen will display.
3. Choose AurorA Configuration and press Enter to display the AurorA System Configuration screen. The
screen on the left will display if you chose A99Protocol in
Defining the RS-485 Protocol
on page 22. If you
chose A2000 Protocol (AurorANet), then the screen on the right will display.

4. Scroll through the pages of settings using the up and down arrow soft keys at the right side of the screen.
5. The default addresses are shown on the screen. AurorA and AurorA99 addresses refer to the MIU
address. If the AurorA Configuration settings are incorrect for your system, select the No soft key at the
bottom of the screen. If you are using an AurorAcorD, which is both a multiplexer and a digital recorder,
you must use the following section for full AurorAcorD control with the System Console.
6. Then enter the multiplexer number and press Enter. You will then be prompted to enter the correct
address and the number of channels or you may select the Not Used soft key (AurorA multiplexers may
be 8 or 16 channels; all AurorA99, AurorA2000 and AurorAcorDs are 16 channels). You must also define
whether the multiplexer will be AurorA2000, AurorA99 or Not Used, using the Type setting.
7. Press Enter and continue to edit until all settings are correct for your system. If you have more than 8
multiplexers, use the up and down soft keys at the right to page up and down.
