Battery charger type BC25, BC30, BC50, BC60
Introduction
The VETUS fully automatic battery charger is specially
designed for quick and efficient charging of many types of
lead/acid batteries (both open and gas-tight batteries, starter,
semi- traction and traction batteries, fluid or gel filled).
For the maximum charge current see page 10.
As the charge current is regulated automatically in accordance
with an ideal charge characteristic, the charger may be con-
nected continuously, even during winter storage.
Operation
On the control panel there is an ‘ON’ and
‘OFF’ switch (1).
The battery charger can also be switched
on without the presence of 220/240 Volt
dockside mains.
The charger will then start charging auto-
matically when power is being supplied
from the dockside mains or generator set.
When the battery charger is switched on
and the mains power is disconnected, the
charger will be switched off automatically.
When the mains is reconnected, the charg-
er will switch on again.
Remote Control RCP1500
The remote control panel contains the same switch functions as
the main control panel.
The switches on both remote and main control panel can be
used in combination with each other. Thus, it is possible to turn
the battery charger on from the main control panel and off from
the remote panel, and vice versa.
Use the knob to adjust the maximum charging current of the
battery charger. By decreasing the maximum charging current
also the input power is decreased. Using a dock side power
connection with a (too) small fuse for charging the batteries is
then possible.
Note: The current indication at the main control panel will con-
tenue to indicate the maximum current while the charging cur-
rent is diminished. The scale is not longer valid!
The following functions are also indicated on the remote control
panel:
‘Charger ON’
‘Failure’
