7.3 Battery Monitoring and Low Battery Warnings
The ICU Control unit continually monitors the status of wireless PIR batteries, wireless door contact batteries and the
control unit back up battery.
If the control unit detects that any of the batteries are low and need replacement a “low battery” warning will be given
by the control unit only when the system is in
“day / unset ” ,
the control unit will beep 10 times and then every 5
minutes it will bleep once, as a reminder.
The control unit will display the slot number of the detector from which the low battery signal is originating and the
display will show
“
0 1, 0 2, ……..1 6
“
along with the “low battery” LED illuminated indicating a low battery.
If the
“low battery”
LED is on, but no zone number is displayed then the rechargeable battery inside the control unit
is run down – this may happen if the mains power has failed and the control unit has been operating from battery
power for more a number of hours.
Press the “ RESET” to clear the indication.
If a low battery is detected when the system is “armed / set” no low battery warning will be displayed, the low battery
warning will be suspended until the system is disarmed to “unset / day mode” , then the low battery warning will be
displayed as above
A detector will continue to transmit low battery warnings regularly until the batteries are replaced.
