•
With the brakes sprung open, undo the Allen socket head bolt that holds the brake pad to the
brake assembly.
•
Fit the new brake block and loosely tighten
•
Press the brake block against the wheel rim as if it were being applied by the brake lever,
align it so that it is flat on the wheel rim and it doesn’t not touch the tyre (allow about 1mm of
clearance).
•
Whilst still holding the brake block against the wheel rim, tighten the securing bolt.
•
Repeat on other brakes
•
Follow steps in section 7.1.1/2 to adjust and balance the brakes if necessary.
8.2 Removing a wheel / replacing the tyres
Changing a wheel on a Cargo Trike is a little different to a conventional bicycle. These differences
particularly the changing of the rear tyre/wheel and its electric connections should not be attempted
by someone without good technical experience.

highly recommended – a bike shop is your best bet.
The Vélo Electrique cargo trike range uses 20” front tyres and 26” rear tyres as standard. Any tyre
can be fitted to the rim provided it does not rub on the frame or mudguards and does not exceed the
dimensions listed in the table below. If a replacement tyre is fitted that is non-standard, inflate that
tyre to the maximum pressure indicated on its sidewall.
