8. Installation
8.1 Switch the device on
1. Release the screws at the bottom of SR and pull the outer case out carefully.
The battery compartment is a large box in the SR with a lid secured with 4 screws.
2. Remove the four screws and take off the compartment lid.
3. Insert new batteries (always use the correct battery type: see Technical specifications below). Make
sure the polarity is correct.
The siren will give a short confirmation tone when the last battery is inserted.
4. Put back the battery lid with the four screws taking care not to over tighten.
8.2 Mount the siren
1. Find the location to mount the siren.
2. Open the siren: loosen the screw at the bottom of the siren and lift the outer case
3. Use the mounting holes as a template for appropriate hole positioning.
4. Use the provided wall plugs for plaster/brick installation.
5. Secure the back of the device on the wall using the included screws.
6. You can enable tamper protection on the control panel. See chapter Program Siren menu – other
options in the CTC1000 manual.
7. To test tamper protection:
o
Arm and disarm the alarm system with the control panel.
o
If the siren sounds 5 short beeps while arming, then the tamper is not set correctly.
o
Make sure the device is properly secured and test again.
8.3 To set up connection between the door bell and the control panel
Connect a detector or remote keypad first
An outdoor siren is considered as an auxiliary device by the system. Before adding a siren, make sure the
system already contains at least one detector or remote keypad. Refer to the CTC1000 manual for
details.
With the siren open:
1. Slide dip switches 3 and 4 to set the alarm duration (see above).
2. Set dip switch 1 to ON.
The siren will beep. The siren is now in learning mode.
3. On the CTC1000 control panel:
o
Enter program mode.
o
Go to /-
o
Select Program Siren, then Learn Siren and press OK.
The control panel will sound a long beep to confirm, followed by the siren’s response of 2 short
beeps.
9. Functions
About the siren

The siren produces a minimum of 104 dBA sound at 1 meter on axis. It is programmable via two dip
switches (SW3 and SW4) for four siren durations: 3, 5 or 10 minutes and 1 second.

The 1 second duration is used for testing during installation.

The siren is silenced when either the programmed siren duration expires or the control panel turns
off the siren.

For burglar and panic alarms, the siren gives a continuous alarm sound.

For fire and water alarms, the siren gives an intermittent alarm sound of 2-sec siren followed by a 1
sec interval, cyclically during the programmed alarm duration.

For water alarm, the siren gives an intermittent alarm sound of a 50% duty cycle at 0.5 seconds
repeated for the programmed alarm duration.
