10.3 Wheel assembly and function of the drum wheel lock
10.3.1 Removing/attaching the drive wheel
1. To assemble a wheel on a quick-release axle, press the foot pedal for vacuum control of the
wheel lock (see Figure 17, item 1) down.
 The wheel lock is engaged and the mobility base for seating shells is in the parking po-
sition.
2. Tip the mobility base for seating shells with one hand on the forearm support.
3. Hold the wheel and press the quick-clamp button (see Figure 18, item 2).
4. Slide the axle (see Figure 18, item 3) into the guide (see Figure 18, item 4) until the wheel is
fully inserted into the chassis.
5. Let go of the button.

The button jumps out and the axle engages in the guide.
6. After assembling a wheel with a quick-release axle, check whether the axle has engaged in
the guide. You can do this by taking hold of a mounted wheel by the spokes of the wheel
hub and trying to move it horizontally. If this is not possible, the axle is locked.
*Freewheel = wheel lock not active
