General settings

The following options are available in the menu for general settings:

■

Language

Selection of the language for the screen display and the voice information. Two lang-
uages are available in the system at the same time. If necessary, other languages can
be downloaded from the System Software-Loading CD or the Language Loading CD.

Selection of an installed language:

☞

Select one of the installed languages.

:

Display information and spoken messages are switched to the selected language.
Information on the safe use of the system then appears in the selected language.

Installing different languages:

☞

Select “Other language” to replace one of the two loaded languages with another
language from the language loading CD.

☞

Insert the language loading CD into the unit.

:

All the languages and speakers (male/female) on the CD are displayed.

☞

Select the required language.

☞

Then select the language to be replaced.

:

The selected language will be loaded. Information on the safe use of the system then
appears in the selected language.

Some of the extended voice information may not be available for all voices. We there-
fore recommend only loading the languages in curly brackets from the language
loading CD (e.g. “German {female voice 2}”).

Audible settings

Settings for the audible guidance messages:

SDVC:

Adjustment for speed-dependent volume increase.

Small (1) to large (5) increase in volume on acceleration. With “0”, there is no increase.

Volume:

Setting of the volume of the guidance messages.

❑

Voice on/off:

Activates/deactivates the audible guidance messages.

With the audible announcements switched off, the

symbol flashes in the lower

status line.

Store the modified settings with “Return”.

☞

Press the

ESC

button or the

4

button to quit the menu without making a change.

Measuring units

Setting of time and date format, measuring units for distance specifications and adjust-
ment of the current time zone.
