Reporting
22.3.5
Query
Queries specify the search criteria for extracting data to create a report. Queries consist of:
a
Datafield
, which is a field from the database.
an Operator, which is the operation to be performed on the datafield
.
a Value, which is the value the datafield will be compared against. A value is not necessary with all
operators. Two or more values after the operator are interpreted as if the word 'and' was between them.
For more information on the data fields and operators available for building queries, please refer to the
aXsGUARD
Identifier Administration Reference Guide.
Example:
To generate a report for a specific Audit message, such as 'Authentication' or 'DP4WEB', you can specify in your Query:
Audit Message = 'Authentication'
Only information on 'Authentication' Audit Messages is reported.
Queries can also combine criteria, for example:
Audit Message = 'Authentication', User Name = 'User5'
22.3.6
Permissions
Each report definition has an owner. The owner is usually the administrator who created the report, but ownership
can be transferred to another administrator in the same domain.
Permissions associated with each report control:
Use
: Who can run and view the report. Use can be restricted to the report owner or can be granted to other
administrators.
Update
: Who can update the report definitions. The ability to change the report format and details can be
restricted to the report owner or can be granted to other administrators.
Permissions are configured separately for use and updating.
Three permission options are possible:
Private: only the owner can view and run the report.
Public: all administrators in all domains can view and run the report.
Domain: the report can be run and viewed only by administrators who belong to the domain where the report
was defined.
Standard reports available in the aXsGUARD Identifier have Public use permissions and Private update permissions.
