Update IDENTIKEY Appliance

Overview
In this section we describe how to update the IDENTIKEY Appliance using the IDENTIKEY Appliance Configuration
Tool
.
VASCO is constantly improving its products, to solve problems or to address new needs. These improvements are
distributed to the IDENTIKEY Appliance through the updating process. Updates are included in the IDENTIKEY
Appliance software maintenance contracts.
Updating is supported by an Update Wizard in the IDENTIKEY Appliance Configuration Tool and can be:
Off-line using an update package (see
Retrieving off-line Update Packages
for instructions on downloading
an update package from VASCO's Registration website).
On-line, through a connection to the VASCO Service Center. An available update can be downloaded during
the Update Wizard.
On completion of the Update Wizard for an on- or off-line update, the IDENTIKEY Appliance automatically reboots.
During reboot, services are temporarily unavailable. After reboot, the System Administrator needs to log back into
the Configuration Tool. Feedback on the update is presented on the Status screen.
A
fail-over
system reverts the IDENTIKEY Appliance to the previous operational version if there is a power failure or
other unforeseen event during updating.
