Disposing of the X-ray Detector
If the X-ray detector is activated by high-energy X-rays, gamma rays, or neutrons follow the local
radiation protection regulation.
Contact you supplier or distributor, and check the terms of conditions of the purchase contract.
This product should not be mixed with other commercial waste for disposal.
The Varex Imaging product may be attached as part of a component to other manufacturers’
systems. These other manufacturers are directly responsible for the collection and processing of
their own waste products under the terms of the WEEE Directive. Contact these producers
directly before discarding any of their products.
WARNING
High energy X-rays and gamma rays greater than 5.5 MeV and/or
neutrons may cause activation above regulatory limits for shipping.
Varex cannot accept any radioactive shipments for activation above the
local regulatory limits.
WARNING
If the X-ray detector or accessories have been contaminated with
potentially harmful substances, they cannot be accepted without written
evidence of decontamination. See
decontamination.
WARNING
Precautions should be taken to not open the detector module.
Depending upon the type of scintillator used, opening the detector
module may expose the user to potentially toxic materials.
