1. On a VAR

(simple arm) professional repair stand or VAR

PR-90200

(double arm), place the frame you need to machine in order to benefit an excellent

stability.

2. Tighten both arms on the body (133mm length) and the pilot (228mm length).

3. Generously and regularly spray the taps and the bottom bracket shell with VAR

CD-77000

cutting fluid in order ton obtain good results and extend the taps lifespan.

4. Drive side, place the

CD-38211-1.370

tap-equipped pilot. On the opposite side,

place the

CD-38210-1.370

 tap-equipped body .

Both taps having a gradual head, it is important, in order not to damage the bottom

bracket shell, to engage both taps at the same time, the pilot centering the tool.

5. Perform one to two rotations following the taps directions (to the left on the drive

side and to the right on the opposite side) so the tool holds itself inside the  bottom

bracket shell.

6. Thread both sides simultaneously until perception of a resistance. From this

moment, perform only by quarters of a turn following the resistance and half a turn

backwards to break the created metal shavings.

7. Follow the taps progression until the rear side of the taps comes flush with the

bottom bracket shell.

8. Remove the taps simultaneously from the bottom bracket shell, in order not to

damage the newly created or refreshed threads.

9. Thoroughly clean the bottom bracket shell with a clean cloth, a brush and VAR

degreaser to remove any used cutting fluid and metal shavings.
