Setup the Media Source with the correct information for a
streaming music source. This includes the path/network
storage information and the ability to enter a
UserName
and
Password
. This screen also has Play, Pause, Stop, Skip Next,
and Skip Previous. Available buttons are dependent on the
equipment and the source Driver’s programming.
Onboard MediaPlayer Source
On Source Unit 1, the onboard
MediaPlayer Source
has the
ability to be
linked
through multiple 850D-DA units, buffering
the source to maintain synchronized sound across each unit’s
zones. In Design Center from the source unit, place a check in
the
Output on S12 OUT
checkbox. By checking this box, the
media player source selected on unit 1 is routed internally to
the source 12 SPDIF output. In a linked configuration,
additional units, set to source 12 will automatically play the
onboard digital MediaPlayer source from the main 850D-DA
amplifier in unison. Please see the example drawing in Section
6, Linked MediaPlayer Example.

MediaPlayer Tips
The MediaPlayer (streaming network) source via the
Ethernet connection is a streamed source comprised of
sound files which are not compressed or changed in
quality by streaming over the local network.
This source accesses a network storage device or similar
connected music source to play media files.
Supported File Types: Ogg Vorbis, MP3, MP1/MP2, MPEG4,
HE-AAC v2, WAV and FLAC.
Organize music files on the NAS device into folders. When
selecting the songs for each folder of music on the NAS
drive, think of each folder as a
Playlist
or as
Genres
. This
will allow a better interface, allowing the user to select a
UNC knowing what music/type will be streamed.
Streaming supports
Previous, Next, Pause, Stop
, and
Play
.
If
Stop
is selected instead of
Pause
, the next time
Play
is
pressed the playing list starts over.
NOTE: The onboard MediaPlayer supports audio files with 1 or
2 channels and a sample rate of
≤
48kHz.
