Anti Algae Copper Electrolyzer
EN
Please read through these instructions for use carefully before installing this device.
Operation
The Anti Algae Copper Electrolyzer purifies the water in your pond by means of copper electrolysis. It is recommended to use this device in
combination with a UV-C device in order to achieve the best possible result. The Copper Electrolyzer is installed in the piping system, before the
water is pumped back into the pond. In the case of a closed filter, install the Electrolyzer behind the filter; install the device in front of the filter
in the case of an open filter. The pond water flows through the housing of the Copper Electrolyzer. A copper unit, which is the actual electrolyzer,
is fitted inside the housing. The copper unit releases a little copper into the water that flows through the housing. These copper ions (Cu
2
+) in
the water have a positive charge, which will affect the cell walls of algae, bacteria, viruses and other primitive organisms. These organisms can
no longer absorb nutrients through the damaged cell wall, and multiplication becomes impossible. This process of generating a positive copper
charge is called copper electrolysis. By keeping the copper value in the pond between 0.1 and 0.2 ppm, hair algae will be destroyed and their
growth will be stopped. The copper in the water will act as a disinfecting buffer in your pond. An additional advantage is that your pond will
smell clean and fresh after the device has been used. Thanks to the Anti Algae Copper Electrolyzer, the water in your pond will be disinfected
in an efficient and safe manner, and the development of hair algae, slime algae and floating algae can be controlled.
Advantages:
- Ensures fresh, clean and clear water
- Disinfects water efficiently and safely
- Protects your pond from germs
- Keeps the formation of mould, bacteria and algae under control
- Beneficial and safe for your fish and plants
Characteristics of the Anti Algae Copper Electrolyzer:
- The copper unit operates for 4,500 hours
- Simple installation and maintenance
- 2-year guarantee on manufacturing faults
- Earthing provided
- Ideal in combination with UV-C

Use
Make sure you test the water before switching the Electrolyzer on. Ensure a minimum carbonate hardness (KH) of 7 ˚DH and a minimum total
hardness (TH) of 8 ˚DH. The pH value of the water must be at least 7 pH (between 7 and 8). The ideal copper balance is between 0.1 and 0.2 ppm.
The test strip will give show you whether the copper content is too high or too low. If table salt or sea salt has been added to the pond water, the
water must be completely replaced before you can use the Electrolyzer. If you want to use water conditioners, the Electrolyzer must be switched
off for the period these products are used.
After the installation of the Anti Algae Copper Electrolyzer, it is possible that the fish in the pond could behave abnormally for a while, or
show signs of anxiety. This is quite normal, and they will behave normally again after a while. If this behaviour continues for too long,
however, you can switch off the Electrolyzer for a few days.
The Electrolyzer is switched on by pressing the “+” button on the display. The status of the copper emission will appear on the screen in red.
This could be a figure between “0” and “99”. If the Electrolyzer is set to “00” it is switched off, and will not release any more copper. The initial
starting position on the display used as a starting point for the copper emission depends on the size of the pond and the result of the test strip
used to carry out the first water test. If the copper content is too low after the first test, it can be increased by pressing the “+” button to set the
display to 30 or higher, as an example. Test the water again after one week. and increase the display value further if the test strip still shows a
low copper value. If the test strip indicates the correct value, between 0.1 and 0.2 ppm, the display does not need to be changed. If the copper
value is too high, the value on the display can be decreased towards “00” with the “-“ button to reduce the outlet of copper into the water. If
